Dear Reader,
I’ve been thinking a lot about connection lately—how books bring people together, how stories become a shared experience, and how words on a page can make us feel seen. So today, I just want to take a moment to say thank you.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading my stories, whether you’ve been following my journey for years or just stumbled upon my Sunset Bay series (or any of my books) recently. Writing can be a solitary thing, but knowing you’re out there—feeling, reacting, loving, and even sometimes yelling at my characters (we’re looking at you, Jordy)—makes it all worthwhile.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to be a writer, especially in a world that moves so fast. Social media is full of authors doing big, flashy things, and I sometimes wonder if I’m keeping up. I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit all over the place lately because, honestly, it can feel overwhelming to connect in spaces that sometimes make you feel invisible. Anyone else relate?
But here’s what I keep reminding myself: the stories matter. The way a book can change someone’s day, offer an escape, or spark a moment of deep understanding—that’s why I write.
That’s also why I read. Lately, I’ve been completely swept up in:
📖 Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros (OMG, that ending!)
🎧 Deep End by Ali Hazelwood (y’all, my commutes are way too short for this audiobook 🥵)
💖 Both Sides Now by M.L. Broome (thank you, Romance Book Blast, for introducing me to this gem!)
🔥 Quicksilver by Callie Hart (I got to meet her last week, she now has MY book Naked Coffee Guy, and I am STILL glowing at how sweet she is!
And, of course, I’ve been deep in the world of my own books—Savior Complex’s Brayden + Nina will forever live in my heart. And I’m beyond excited for my upcoming Lahoma Springs small-town series (more on that soon!).
But most of all, my gratitude for connection is because of you. Every review, every private message, every tag from a reader who lets me know how my book has touched them—it all fuels me through every writing session. When self-doubt creeps in, I only need to remember your kind words.
So, tell me—what’s a book that has stayed with you lately? One that made you feel something big? I’d love to hear in the comments. And if one of my books has been that story for you, I’d be honored to know.
Sending you all the love,
Crissi
