It’s pretty surreal to see where I was several years ago, and where I am now. Another lifetime ago I was a single mom, struggling to get through to the next paycheck…struggling to figure out who I was, and where I was going.
But underneath it all, I have always been a writer.
By sheer luck, or more likely a God thing, I landed a job at my local newspaper. While there, I met my future husband and the love of my life. I worked my way around the departments before finally moving “upstairs” where the writers are.
And then there is the book, which lead to a book writing obsession. A Symphony of Cicadas is not the first book I have written, but it is the first one I saw promise in seeing it through. I wouldn’t give up, even when I had moments of wondering if I was crazy to expose something I put so much of my soul into.
And my determination, helped along by the support of my family and close friends, allowed me to see my goal come to completion.
